Sarah Aponte, MD
Anesthesiologist
Dr. Aponte is a board certified anesthesiologist who was born and raised here in the Valley of the Sun. She graduated from Barry Goldwater High School and Harvard College before receiving her medical doctorate at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She returned to Cambridge to serve her internal medicine internship year at the Harvard affiliated Mount Auburn Hospital. She completed her anesthesia residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital and New York Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital - Columbia University Medical Center in 2010.
Dr. Aponte returned to Arizona to start her anesthesia practice in the East Valley and joined Canyon State Anesthesiologists in 2018. Her primary specializations are ambulatory anesthesia and advanced airway management.
Elyssa Bent, MD
Anesthesiologist
Dr. Bent is a board certified anesthesiologist specializing in outpatient and office anesthesia. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Brigham Young University in Anatomy and Physiology. Dr. Bent received her Medical Degree from the University of Utah and completed her Anesthesiology residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle WA. As a native Arizonan, Dr. Bent returned home to practice Anesthesiology and has been a partner at Canyon State Anesthesiologists since 2001. She finds joy in the work of alleviating patient’s fears and improving their experience as they undergo surgical procedures.

Brian Elliott, DO
Anesthesiologist
Dr. Elliott is board certified anesthesiologist. He was born in Iowa, where he lived until his family moved to Tucson, AZ, at the age of 10. He attended Northern Arizona University and received his Bachelors of Science. Additionally, he met his wife, Jennifer, while studying at NAU and they would both go on to study medicine and become anesthesiologists.
Dr. Elliott enjoys the outdoors and participating in water sports, mountain biking, and hiking.

Jennifer Elliott, DO
Anesthesiologist
Jennifer Elliott is a board certified anesthesiologist. She was born and raised in Flagstaff, AZ. She met her husband, Brian Elliott, during her undergraduate years at NAU in her hometown.
Dr. Elliott thoroughly enjoys her profession and her patients. When she is not caring for people in the operating room, you can find her spending her free time outdoors as she loves hiking, mountain biking, and travelling with her husband and friends.

Duane Ellsworth, DO
Anesthesiologist
Dr. Ellsworth is board certified in anesthesiology and has dedicated his professional life to serving patients and staff in the operating room. He was convinced to study anesthesiology during his undergraduate career in mechanical engineering at BYU, Utah. While volunteering at a local hospital he was introduced to the field of anesthesia by a patient he was assisting. He now specializes in ambulatory and office anesthesia. Since he is a fourth generation native of Arizona he has returned home and enjoys spending his time helping his wife raise their four energetic boys.
